Karnali/Tamur Expedition plus multi river
The Karnali and Tamur are the longest and most stunning river expeditions in Nepal. With Arkadventures in 2025 there is the offer of a 7 day Tamur trip that starts witha lush 2 day trek. Finishing with a 5 day selfsupported kayaking trip on class 4. After the expedition we head west where we paddle the Balephi- und Bhoti Kosiand stay in a guest house and in the evening we make a walk where we see the whole valley. The Plan
- Day 1 –Meet and greet at the airport in Kathmandu, followed by a drive to our hotel, before we explore Thamel in the evening!
- Tag,2 The Monkey Temple at sunrise is a must, followed by a tour through the old town in Kathmandu, before we prepare to fly to the Tamur.
- Tag,3 Today we fly to Biratnagar, which is only an hour away from Kathmandu but located in the far east of Nepal. Preparation for trekking and a drive to the trekking starting point.
- Tag,4/5 Trek to Gufal Pokhari, with breathtaking mountain views, is worth it, offering a view of Mount Everest, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga. A highlight of the trekking tour is camping at Gufal Pokhari, a stunning high-altitude lake.
- Tag,6/10 130 km of paddling and whitewater await us as we spend each night by the river, surrounded by remote villages, beautiful landscapes, and impressive gorges. At each campsite, we can play games or fish and enjoy our time together, while locals join us around the campfire, and we learn about how they live. We learn what life is like for the local people—what do they do? What work do they do? And afterwards, we all eat together to enjoy the evening meal together.
- Tag,11/12 Drive to a small town and spend 2 days paddling on the Balephi River with its smooth granite rocks. Depending on the situation with the new dam, there may be an opportunity to paddle on a confluence river. Here, we’ll take a beautiful walk in the evening overlooking the valley.
- Tag,13/14 We travel near Kathmandu where we will spend the next 2 days paddling and relaxing at the beach camp.
- Tag,15 From here, we make our way to Kathmandu and arrange transportation to the airport.
