What to Expect on the Kayak Tour in Colombia!
After a day on the kayak, it’s time to relax:
Make your own cocoa butter lotion, apply it, and then shower under a waterfall.
An unforgettable experience on Andrés’ and Diana’s cocoa farm!
Valley of Waterfalls
A dreamy river surrounded by waterfalls cascading into the valley. On a kayak tour in Colombia, our kayaks are carried by mules. Afterwards, we spend the night at the cozy “Mama Kolumbia” guesthouse, nestled in the heart of nature.
After a delicious breakfast, we start the day — heading straight to the waterfall, where whitewater rapids of grades 3 to 4 await us.
Kayaking tour of the rio Samana
The Río Samaná is the hidden gem of Antioquia.
We paddle this impressive river over two days and spend the night in a remote jungle spot—right next to a paradise-like waterfall where we can bathe in the evening.
The Samaná carries a lot of water and offers exciting rapids with many pools as well as calmer sections for relaxing.
Some rapids—like the well-known Pizza Rock —offer loads of fun with their waves (grade 4+, depending on water level)!

The Plan
- Day 1 –You will be picked up from the airport, we arrive at the guest house and relax and swim in the local river.
- Day 2 –Kayaking trip on a classic grade 4 kayak/rafting run only 20 mins from the house.
- Day 3 –Kayaking on the bigger volume tributary for the Samana and use of muels to bring our kayaks to the river. After it's time to go to the local city relax and enjoy delicious food, after back to the house
- Day 4 –Today we paddle the local river next to the house and enjoy a local coconut icecream at the get on!
- Day 5 –We make our way to the `valley of waterfalls`and bath in waterfalls enjoying a prepared pack lunch, we paddle after through the valley to the guesthouse.
- Day 6 –After yesterday, we deserve a relaxing day on the cacao farm from Andrès. Here you will learn everything how chocolate is produced from the source. Also Feasting on the Local produce and fruits direct from the garden. With many surprises along the way and some covered in chocolate ;)
- Day 7 Today, we head to a classic: a Grade 4 section in the beautiful Colombian jungle! We paddle for most of the day and enjoy a lunch with fresh fish, fruits, and vegetables!
- Day 8-9 -Two-day tour on the last free-flowing river in Antioquia.
- Day 10 –We paddle our home river and end the trip together with a lunch.
- For those who want to stay longer in Colombiathere is the option to extend the tour or explore new places on your own – for example, Guatapé or the coast. Others can also be directly dropped off at the airport.
